NEW YORK - Online video joint venture Hulu on Wednesday unveiled a content deal with Miramax.
It will bring hundreds of the studio's films, such as Good Will Hunting, The English Patient and Pulp Fiction, to the Hulu Plus subscription service and rotate select films through Hulu's advertising-supported free site.
The companies didn't disclose financial terms of the multi-year deal, whose Hulu Plus part starts on Wednesday.
Under CEO Mike Lang, Miramax has been looking for increased digital distribution and recently also struck a deal with Netflix's streaming service.
Hulu's deal includes the rotation of around 15 movies from Miramax each month through its site. Those films will include periodic ad breaks.
"To anyone who really loves movies, the name Miramax matters," Andy Forssell, Hulu's senior vp, content and distribution, said in a blog post.
